Ftp destination location keeps getting additional slashes

Thread needs solution

When I specify an ftp destination location and go back to the "Configure disk backup process" dialog, I see ftp://hostname:21/directory/\ (note the ending backslash).

Then when I save from this screen, on the Backup and Recovery main tab I see the job with the location ftp://hostname:21/directory// (note two forward slashes).

Now if I edit the backup setting again I see ftp://hostname:21/directory//\, and if I save it I see ftp://hostname:21/directory///.

Indeed, every time I edit the batch job another forward slash is put at the end of the destination location.

Sounds like a bug when ATI is parsing the filename entry and is trying to make it a fully qualified filename.
Have you tried putting on no end slashes to see what happens?

I want to bump this topic.

I have latest version of ATIH 2013 and am having the exact same problems.

It seems to add slashes every time i change the settings.
There is no way to remove the slashes.

Have you tried copying and pasting in the correct name with or with ending slash?

There is no way to manually type the path for FTP backups.
So i cannot do what you ask.

Do you know of any command line for a standard backup to FTP location?

Okay, but the program doesn't intuit the destination. You have to give it that info at some point. Can you redo that step? Sorry I'm not more familiar ftp. just trying to get into a working situation.

Update:
I have recreated the backup sets, i don't think the additional slashes are the problem.

What i suspect is that the extra slashes are handled as a change directory to itself, therefore it leads to the same directory.

I think we can close this thread since it only is a visibility issue, it doesn't screw with the functionality of the backup itself.

I will continue to look for what the problem really is and create a new topic based on that.
