Full backup creates 2 files with Windows XP ??
Hi everyone,
I created my first backup with 2012 tonight, and the resulting files are:
Local_disk_(C)(1).tib
Local)disk)(C)(2).tib
Why is this ? The first file is 4,194,304 gb in size
the second file is 820,988 megs in size.
I used True Image years ago at work, and a simple complete backup resulted in a single .tib file.
Why is Acronis True Image 2012 creating 2 files for me now ?
thanks for any information on this.
Dave.

Morning Grover !
ah ! thanks for that. Doh ! Totally forgot about that file size limitation. The laptop is older, and doesn't support a 64 bit OS, it's Windows XP, 32 bit. Now, the system is up and running fine, but at this point I guess there is no way to convert the hard drive C into NTFS is there ? I'm guessing not, as it is the boot drive, the OS drive, and Windows is running on it.
Thanks for the help Grover.
Dave.

Remember, I am talking about the target disk--not the source disk.
Do a google search on this for some change options.
convert to ntfs

Hi Grover, oops, goes to show you I didn't read your first reply slowly enough, yes, you sure did indicate the target disk.
Thank you for replying with that.
I just checked the Lexar USB thumb drive, and bingo ! it's FAT 32. I'm going to format it right now, and re-do the backup. I'll let you know
how it goes ! Thanks again for your help Grover !
