FullBackup.tib file is password protected
I need to apply the full and latest incremental backups to my C drive.
When I try to restore the fullbackup, Acronis says that the file is password protected and
promps for it.
I can find no record of this. Can someone tell me if I can take the password protection
off the file, create a new password and then do the recovery.
I have Acronis True Image Home 11.0, Build 8,053.
Thanks for any help with this.
Paul

I used Acronis 10 to perform a full backup (unfortunately, the only backup of the drive I need). As above, the restore function asked for a password (which never was used to create the backup). I then followed your advice and used the Validate Backup (which is under tools in Ver.10). That program could find the correct backup, but the "next" button would not illuminate. So I tried to copy the 16 files to another disk. The validate found all 16 separate files but for each said "not acronis file or corrupted." Since posting the above has acronis developed any other method for recovery of corrupted acronis backups?
thanks

Hello Peter,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your message. I will do my best to help you with this issue.
Is it possible to at least browse through the backups? Simply click on the backup file in Windows explorer and check it opens. Can you salvage any files from it? Please make sure all the backups files are in one folder if it is an incremental/differential backup chain.
We also have this extensive troubleshooting guide for corrupt backups, please try all the steps listed there.
If you need additional assistance, please let me know.
Thank you.
