Having Problems With Windows Credentials

Thread needs solution

For those of you having problems with backing up to a drive that is attached to another computer on your network. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Tech support chat was absolutely no help and a waste of time IMO. What I was doing wrong was entering the credential ID only. You have to enter the MACHINE NAME\USER ID of the computer in the credential section along with the password and all is well. Hope this may help some of you. I first tried searching this forum with no results that applied to my situation.

Hello D. Buranich,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I would like to provide you with additional assistance.

We really appreciate your feedback and you are absolutely right, specifying machine name and user id helps in specific situations and this is caused by environment specifics.

We recently released Acronis True Image 2012 Home Update 1 which has a lot of NAS issues addressed. I would recommend to install it. Release notes for this new build can be found here.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

This provided a glimmer of hope but ATI 2012 latest version as of 4 hours ago seems hopelessly stuck in requesting credentials - I tried user and pw, machine id \user and pw, and no id and no pw. All fail. Does someone know a way to overcome this impasse?

Thanks
