Thanks Scott...I 'think' I did change the drive letter assignments sometime before this issue arose. In addition...I found a couple posts ( http://forum.acronis.com/forum/18288 & http://forum.acronis.com/forum/19831 ) that referred to same/similar issue.
Removing the old task and reassigning the same task as a new task solved the issue.
I'm still testing Acronis TIH 2011 trying to decide on whether to install/purchase ATIH 2011 on my 5 PC's. Seems to be an awful lot of bugs/quirks as I read the forms everyday...and yet I find lots of posts in this and other Windows 7 forums praising ATIH 2011 ??
Oh well...thanks again !!

Tim,
It is fair to say to ATI 2011 6857 has some quirks. The core functionality of imaging (full, incremental, differentials) and restoring from the CD is solid though. You have to test it on your systems however, in particular the CD you would use to boot and restore.
If you intend to use more advanced features like email backup, Non-stop backup or Try&Decide, make sure you have a regular disk and partition backup you are OK going back to (ie not too old) if these features end up not meeting your expectations in the heat of a disaster.

Thanks Pat...one more "?" I have been unable to find a "comparison chart" of sorts that shows the pros/cons of Acronis over the default Win 7 Pro 64 bit Backup/Restore features ?
Do you know of one or any comparisons of Acronis to Windows 7 generic backup features ?
Tim

No, I don't know any. Here is my take:
- The Windows backup works great (I use it myself in addition to ATI), if you have Pro or Ultimate. It is significantly slower than ATI and creates bigger files. Because it uses a pre-Windows environment for restore, it doesn't have as many hardware support issues as ATI,
- The Windows backup keep only the latest system image, but previous images can be found in the volume shadow copies. Since Windows let you manage only the size of the shadow copies, you cannot control really how many copies the backup will keep. Since each system image is a full backup, space goes pretty fast.
- ATI provides more features than Windows Backup (Non Stop Backup, email backup, try&decide), but comes with many quirks and bugs that make them a bit unreliable. So, I never use them personally.
- The file backup of Windows Backup and the file backup of ATI are similar, but ATI is faster.
I use ATI to keep a long history of my SSD as my main daily backup, and I use the Windows backup just as a fall back position, by doing weekly backups on another disk, but without any history.
