HFS Partitiontable shot

Thread needs solution

Hi!
Yesterday I got a external 500GB USB-Drive with a Mac Datasystem. I thought it was ntfs and tried to use it with my XP-System. Windows asked wether it should initialize the Drive and i clicked "Yes". Now I think the partitiontable is corrupted, thats what "Testdisk" says. Since "Testdisk" is not easy to use in this case (You have to write the new HFS-Partitiontable by Hand) I woul like to know wether Acronis-Software can do it?

Than You very much,

Franko

Franko,

Do you actually have a Windows PC or a Mac PC?

If you want the external disk to be NTFS, and Windows Disk Managment won't 'talk' to the drive at the moment, then you need Acronis Disk Director.

What you need to try using Windows Disk Management is to Delete the volume. The disk should then be shown by WDM or DD11 as raw, then you need to Create a volume and then partition it as NTFS.

If WDM doesn't work then DD11 should.
