Home 2012 will not clone

Thread needs solution

I wanted to clone my laptop hard drive to an SSD. The program will go through the motions briefly enter the black screen with some text quickly coming on and disappearing and then the computer boots and I am back in Win 7. what is going on???

Just as an aside I find Paragon to be a much more user friendly and reliable program
Thanks Curt

I have a desktop with a new Raid-1 array and tried the clone feature but it does not work either. I have a fresh build of Windows 7 pro and ran the program from Windows. The messages say it is starting and then I get a prompt for a reboot. The system reboots into the Acronis environment but fails to actually do the cloning. Then it reboots without showing any results.

It appears that the clone utility does not work. I am creating an Acronis boot disk and will try cloning this way.

Has anyone had success using the clone utility with Acronis Home 2012?

Gregg,

When you clone a disk that contains an OS, ATI will ask you to reboot.
When you clone, or when you restore a backup, always use the ACronis recovery CD/USB flash drive.
Boot your computer on that CD, and make sure that it sees your RAID1 as a single volume, not as separated disks. Also, be aware that the drive letters ATI shows you when it runs from the CD are different from the ones Windows is showing you. Look at labels, brand of disks, size to make sure you select the right source and destination!
