How to backup the list of backup jobs in TM 2014

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have several backup tasks in TM 2014. Yesterday I installed the latest build of TM 2014, after this all my tasks were gone. I had settings backup which I created in the Tools page, so I tried to restore it, but it didn't bring my list of backups back, apparently it was not included in backup. At the end I had to run system restore to get rid if the latest build and get my tasks back.

I don't know why installing the latest build erased all my backup jobs, but is there a way to backup all my tasks? It would be a big pain to re-create all my backups after each update like this.

Thank you.

Peter,
When installing the upgrade the first time, did you use the automatic upgrade option or did you uninstall the old before installing the new.

The scripts folder contains all your tasks (scripts)

C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\

The file below is your history file which contains a record of all your backups created by the installed build. Both are viewable in Notepad.
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database\archives.xml

Thank you, GroverH.

I was trying to use automatic update option, but got a message that there were no newer version. This wasn't correct, my build is 6673, so I downloaded build 6688 and installed it. Now I'm back to 6673.

So, if I understood you correctly, to restore my tasks I just need to put these script files to this location, correct? No special registry entries?

Thank you.

No registry entries needed. What you are attempting, I have not tried. I prefer to start fresh with each new build or version.
but it should work if copy the scripts from a recent backup. It may start over with a full as the archives.xml file has not been copied.
I don't know what you can expect but give it a try. If you have anomalies, you can always start over again fresh.

Even a restore of an old backup will not get you completely back to before unless after the restore, you delete the restore file plus any newer tib files from that specific task. Reason: at backup snapshot time, the tib file being used for the restore did not exist nor any of more newer files.

Thank you. I don't mind creating the fresh backups, but I hate to drill again through all my folders in search for the files and folders that need to be backed up, setting all the options again like e-mail notifications etc., that's why usually backup or sync programs have this option.
