How to do file backups

Thread needs solution

I have a desktop with an SSD for the OS and a separate HD for user data.
I can do a backup of the system, but when I try to backup an individual file (My Documents) from the data disk it wants to back up the whole data disk instead. I have checked the user guide carefully and looked at Anna Trifonova's tutorials but I can't see where I'm going wrong.

Also, I assume I can have several backup tasks running separately, ie the system backup and separate data file backups, with different schedules, but how do I select a task to check or change its schedule or remove it completely?

As a novice Acronis user I'd appreciate some help.

Cheers

Yes, you can have a single task (backup the same data always) and it can be used repetitively.
Or, you can create multiple individual backup tasks with each task performing a backup of different topics.

Here is the Acronis link (left margin WebHelp) about a backup of files and folderes rather than a partition or disk. A backup of files inside a folder is easy to do but I have never backed up just a single file.

Here are a few links of interest. You would benefit by a review of my signature link #2-A below. The next links are also an extract from that link.

I would encourage you to create a backup scheme similiar to the links GH11 or 12 or 13.
The automatic cleanup helps you to automatically manage a rotation of backups--preferably disk image backup capable of creating a replacment disk--should the need arise.
