How Do I Create and Use Backup Screenshots and/or Add Comments in TIH 2011?
Using Acronis True Image Home 2011 Build 6942 with XP Home SP3.
I selected the option to create a screenshot at start of backup (Disk in this case).
No screenshot was created.
Do I actually have to use some external screenshot software?
Also, where do I add comments?

My screenshots for version 2012, build 5545 are stored in this folder in XP Pro
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Screen\
The last version of 2011 (7046) may have fixed the screenshot issue. In 2012, I set the screen shot option from within the backup options group and I had it take a picture of my *.tib storage folder each time the backup was created.

Where is Build 7046? I am using Build 6942 and am told that is the latest version of True Image Home 2011.

Correction: You are correct. Build 6942 is the last build for 2011. I have 2012;5545 installed.
Build 6942 may have fixed the issue but I do not have it installed to check.

Hi Gang.
I'm new to the forum, but a long-time ATIH user (starting with v9). I just recently upgraded to 2012 (build 5545).
I just performed a Disk and Pertition backup (Multi-Partition image) using supplied Version Chain scheme. I also selected the option to take a screenshot upon backup start. The backup completed successfully, and the log shows no errors (although I did not perform validation in the backup step, which I understand generates an error message -- an acknowledged bug).
Upon "exploring" the completed backup, there is screenshot. On the Disks and partitions tab, beneath the header "Screenshot at the moment of backup:" is just the placeholder image (Screenshot is not available for this version).
What could be the problem?

BraveDave,
Have you checked your folder containing the screenshots?
My 2012 shots are stored here for my xp pro system
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Screen\
This is the same master folder where the logs are stored.
My "screen" folder contains about 15 different snap shots where I recently did some testing and created a whole bunch of different backups.
I have since deleted the test backups so I don't know whether they would have displayed in the task which you attached.

Thanks for the reply GroverH.
I'm using TIH2010 on a box running Win 7, but the similar folder there is empty. So... is it that TIH is not even taking the screen grab?
Is your installation of TIH properly displaying the files (the ones you said are in your \Screen folder) on the applicable "Explore and Recover" screen in TIH?
Dave

BraveDave,
On version 2012, your attachment would be showing a picture of your desktop--at least mine does.
The prior versions screenshot never worked but I am not sure about the last release of 2011. The 2010 never worked--or at least not for me.
Keep in mind that the screenshot is whatever is on the screen when the TrueImage starts. Most of the time this will be just of the desktop. You might be able to use some pre-command to have a particular folder open if you want a picture of something specific.
