How do I edit connection settings for network share

Thread needs solution

I am backing up my PC to a network share (on windows home server 2011), and would like to change the authentication settings. I originally set it up to use my credentials, but would like to change it to a new account that I created on the server specifically for backups, so that the backups will not fail if I change my own password.

I can't see anything in the options for the backup to allow me to do this. Any suggestions?

I have had the same issue. Only way I could do it is:
- launch ATI
- disconnect the network connection
- start the backup
- ATI will complain it cannot find the file to base the backup on,
- choose cancel
- the UI should update with an X between the source and destination and a pop up window will have a link to edit the connection settings.
- click that link
- enable the network connection
- enter your credentials and test the connection.

I get the red X and the error message but no link to click? Was it in the error message popup or did you find it elsewhere?

I had the same problem. Even uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.

The reason is:

the login credentials are saved in the registry and are not removed
just delete the connections inside the smb folder or ftp if you are using ftp.
HKEY_USERS\S-**your sid**\SOFTWARE\Acronis\Connections\smb

if you don't know your sid, you can get it by using this command in the powershell or cmd:
whoami /user

result will look like this
User Name SID
========================= ============================================
**my name** S-0-0-00-000000000-000000000-0000000000000-0000

Hope this helps.

@Gerhard...

Thanks very, very (VERY!!) much for posting the solution to something that I've been looking for for the past week.  I knew what my problem was (I needed to change credentials) but no where in TIH 2014 could I find where to change it.  Your registy edit did the trick and now my backup is running again.

Please see the link below to get ATI 2015 & 2016 to ask for login credentials.
