How do I remove record of old backups

Thread needs solution

I have an old Seagate USB hard drive that I use for backups. The drive has limited space so I have to prune (delete) old backups before I can perform a new backups. Although I'm not having any problem with creating new backups, TI 2015 still indicates that it has a record of these old backups and in certain circumstances it tries to find them and reports that it can't. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place or it's not obvious to me but I can't seem to find where the record of these non-existent backups exists and how I can remove them so Acronis only see's the backups that I really do have stored on the external drive. Any help will be appreciated.

Are these deleted backups listed as tasks in your main menu? If yes, you can right click on each one and choose the "remove from list" option.

If not listed, then you may need to boot into safemode,
rename the database folder to old
and recreate a new empty database folder.
