How do I restore all my partitions at once?
I have TI 9 running on PC#2, under Windows XP Pro. On PC#1, with TI8, running under Windows XP Home, I generated an image of my entire primary hard drive (contains several partitions). I then stored the *.tib image file on an external USB hard drive. When PC#1 crashed this morning, I transferred the tib file to PC#2.
When I start TI9 on PC#2 to begin the process of restoring the image to a hard drive (replacing the failed hard drive which crashed), I get to the point in the "restore" process where all the partitions appear, each with a checkbox; I can select any one of the partitions, but no more than one at a time.
Disk 1, is at the top of the list of partitions, but "Disk 1" does not have a checkbox. I cannot check all the partitions at once using control left click or shift left click (spanning the first and last partition), or otherwise. I want to select all the partitions at once, or simply select Disk 1, so the restore is for the entire image, in one fell swoop.
Any idea what I'm missing? The TI 9 help file suggests that all the partitions can be chosen at once, but I can't figure out how to do that. Thanks. Jay

It appears my TI 8 image file (of my crashed hard drive) was not configured to be the "entire" hard drive (including the MBR and disk signature) but rather only the files in each partition. For that reason, I may have to send my crashed drive to a specialist to see if they can recover the MBR from that drive and "marry it" with the files I was able to recover (to a new hard drive) through my successful image of each partition on the old hard drive, before it crashed. Thank you for clarifying things for me. I was remiss in never checking that a TI 8 backup "worked" before Murphy's Law occurred. Jay

Before sending your machine to the specialist, you can try repairing the MBR yourself from a Windows installation disk. Please check this Knowledge Base article for instructions.
You can also send us Acronis Report 51 output, it will tell us why the machine is not booting.
