how do you guys compare backups?

Thread needs solution

I know for disk backups you can mount the tibs on a separate drive and browse through with any program such as Beyond Compare.
But a file backup, you cannot mount. You can browse its files through Windows Explorer as there seems to be a shell extension for that, but accessing a path inside a tib from another program doesn't seem possible, does Acronis provide a hook to the OS for opening file handles like that?

I have a incremental from yesterday and one for today, and I wanted to compare what has changed between the two. This should be a basic feature, no? How do you folks compare (I mean other than by browsing and looking manually)?

Thanks!

That may not be a common user need. I don't think I have ever compared contents of my backups.

I noticed people complaining sometimes that a particular incremental is overly large. The first thing you want to know, before investigating further, is, whether there were indeed more data/files added between that backup and the previous one. It might not be a common need for basic users, but it definitely is one for power users and programmers/businesses, and I thought Acronis caters to business users as well.
