How to integrate drivers in Universal Restore?

Thread needs solution

Hello!
I've TrueImage 2011 with Universal Restore and i want to restore an image on a different hardware!
After restoring the image, i got a bsod!
I think, universal restore has not integrated the new driver (scsi-7902 on floppy), although i've added the searchpath.

Any idea?

Thx,
wayne

Hello Wayne!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! Thank you for reporting about the issue, I will do my best to help you with it.

Unfortunately due to the lack of sufficient diagnostic information it's hard to identify what caused the problem, as there can be many reasons, and we need to localize one.

Before we proceed with the investigation, please make sure that the steps you performed match the instructions in this Acronis Universal Restore Guide.

Should the issue remain even if you've followed all instructions, please gather the following diagnostic data:

  1. Recovery log
(View Log -> Save all to file)
  2. Acronis Info from the source drive
  3. Acronis Report from both drives
  4. Windows Registry from the target and source machines
Please do the following to take Windows registry from the target system (that is, the system to which the image was restored):

        * Create an Acronis True Image Bootable CD. The CD is used because in most cases the problem systems cannot boot into Windows.
        * Boot the computer under consideration from the created Acronis True Image Bootable CD
        * Create files/folders backup of \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file
        * Send us the created *.tib file

Please do the following to take Windows registry from the source system (there are two ways to do this):

        * You can perform the same exact steps described above for capturing registry from target system and send us the *.tib file
        * Or since the source system registry is already backed up as a part of a full hard disk drive or partition backup, you can simply restore \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file from the image and send us the restored files/folders.

  5. BSOD message
If the machine keeps restarting, press F8 on the start-up and disable Reboot upon start-up failure option

After that please submit a support case with the information attached, and let us know its number. We will make sure it's handled in a proper way.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Hello Yana,
i've followed all steps in the "Acronis Universal Restore Guide" without success!

How do i get the recover log? Starting with BarPE, there is no recover log!?

The BOSD message: STOP 0x0000007B (0x729D524, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I've also a problem to open a support case.
The error after clicking on the send-button: 413 Request Entity Too Large

Thank you!

Hi Wayne,
Don't worry if Acronis never comes back to settle your problem.
This happened every time they do not find a solution. It happened to me a few times too...

arrrrrggggg! really great support! :-(
perhaps, i've to wait...

babac, how did you solve your problems?

I tried a migration process that failed, not a bsod.
I submitted my problem to Acronis.Like you, I was asked to submit different logs ,which I did.
Like you, I did not get an answer and my problem was never solved.

ok. i found the problem!
it was the wrong scsi driver! first, i downloded the driver from the hp site, because it's a xw6000 workstation.
but with this driver it didn't work! the driver from the adaptec site also didn't work!
With the driver from the intel-download-center the restore system is booting...

Great!

@Babac:
Hope, you will also find a solution... :-)

Glad for you. It's always a matter of drivers , most of the time.
What motherboard did you migrate from and to?

this was only a test from the hp workstation xw8200 to xw6000!
I wanted to know, if and how is works!
