Ignoring error messages?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have True Image 2010 (latest build) and when I do a data recovery I sometimes get an error message "failed to recover file or folder 'xxx.xxx'". If I click ignore, it carries on as expected.

However, if I'm doing a large restore, I don't want to have to click ignore every time the restore job encounters an error. Worse of all, if I don't do anything it just cancels the job. That's annoying.

Is there anyway to change this behavior so that I can leave to job to run and just report which files it can't restore at the end?

Hello Julian,

Thank you for posting. Let me assist you with this issue please.

Please check the following article for details, you can enable silent mode so that error messages do not pop-up.

In case you find this option useful you can also toggle timeout settings in ATIH 2010.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

Hi Anton

Many thanks for those links. I tried setting silent mode but it didn't make any difference to the restore. I did notice though that the setting was under the Backup section of the options. Should it still apply to restores?

Hello Julian,

Thank you for replying.

I apologize for the incorrect information, I was under the impression that it was a backup.

Those backups settings are not applicable then.

It is possible that those files are being used during the recovery, you could try making sure that your recovery operations take place when they are not used.

I would recommend to contact our Support team for additional investigation and since this is a recovery issue we will not charge support fees.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Hi Anton

thanks again. I'm actually restoring to an alternative location (an empty USB drive) so "in use" files should not be an issue. Strangley though when I mount the backup file as a drive I can restore all the contents by doing a file copy.

However, I will do as you suggest a log a call with the support team.

Thanks
