Image or Clone??

Thread needs solution

I have just installed TI Home 2011 together with the Plus Package.
I am now using an evaluation workstation which is the same spec as my own except more RAM & a beetr graphics card. The processor, hdd, motherboard etc are all the same.
At some point I will have to return the evaluation workstation. However I rather not habving to reinstall all the software that I have installed 7 used during the evaluation. I would like to have the same setup being "ported over" to my own workstation. To do so, should I:

1) use TIH with the PP to create a backup image of the OS drive and then restore it to my old workstation? The restore should work as the PP supposed to allow the same settings restored on different hardware.

2) when I am ready to surrender the evaluation machine, clone the hdd to my own hdd?

Which is the most secured & safe option?

Thanks.

The only advantage that item #2 has over item #1 is cloning is slightly faster but it is definitely less safe. Read the clone item in my signature below.

My recommendation would be item #1 but do it now to get any glitches resolved should they occur. Then you can do it again later should you choose with a newer backup.
