imaging a computer lab efficiency?
Thread needs solution
I am getting ready to image a computer lab of 25 Windows XP Pro systems, and I am stuck on how to do efficiency. I've installed Windows XP Pro SP3 on first system along with all of the additional programs (office, anti-virus, and windows updates, etc..), and I made the the disk image; but I am just a little lost on how to streamline the install process.
After I image the systems, I need to:
- change the computer name to Workstation-01
- set the IP address to 192.168.1.101,
- set the subnet mask 255.255.255.0,
- set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1
- point to the DNS servers
- then join the active directory domain
and all of these steps have to be done to all of 25 of the computers. I could just image all of the computers, then do all of these steps manually, but that's going to take some time. Is there a way how I can set all of these variables dynamically, so that I don't have to all of these steps manually?
