Incorrect "total size"
I'm running Acronis True Image Home 2012 on Windows 7.
I just did a full backup (not sector by sector) of my C: drive to a brand new external drive. Windows Explorer shows that the C: drive has a used space of 517 GB; and the resulting .tib file on the external drive is 384 GB. That sounds right; and exploring the .tib file shows reasonable contents.
But using the Acronis "Backup and recovery" tab, the "total size" for that backup is shown as 795 GB.
This is very confusing. What does the "total size" figure mean?

My TOTAL SIZE indicates it is 4 times larger than the file saved on my Hard Drive. I have successive files for every day at that time. That is: every day at 1700 I save a SINGLE VERSION in the Folder labeled '1700'-and 7 BU's individually Labeled: Sun to Sat. Does that mean that I am Validating all the other files in the saved folder of 1700? It seems that way as Acronis indicates 'one minute to go' for a long time.

Yeah... The total size thing and the time remaining are not reliable data from Acronis.
Validation validates only the last file that the task has created or that you select for validation. If that file is a partial backup, the entire chain up to that partial included is validated.
