incremental backups same size as full backup
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but what is happening is that my incremental backups of my pictures folders are same size as full backup (actually a little bigger each time like it is doing a full backup each time, ie, adding the new files that I add to the folders). Am I missing something here?
The backup files are labeled:
Images_13 True Image_full_b2_s1_v1.tib
Images_13 True Image_inc_b2_s2_v1.tib
Images_13 True Image_inc_b2_s3_v1.tib
Images_13 True Image_inc_b2_s4_v1.tib
What should I be doing?
TIA,

As MVP Tuttle has suggested, this could be caused by an automatic defrag by Windows or a 3rd Party software. Any movement of data even if the data is the same will cause the moved data to be included within the new backup.
Your backup scheme should produce the results you want. Keep in mind that it will create a replacement backup before deleting the old.
At this juncture the slice 4 backup should have been a new backup full --b3_s1_v1 but it wasn't.
Any chance you have edited the original task changing any of the options? If edited, I would suggest that you create a new task with the same settings except use an empty sub-folder for storage as you do not want to mix backup tasks from different tasks inside the same folder.

Uhm...are you saying that your/my system backups...ie...full, incremetal...etc should be in a different folder on my backup drive than the 3-times a week file/data backups ?

Tim,
While it is not a requirement and mixing is permitted by the program, many of us helpers have found there is less confusion by the program with less corruption and much less confusion when each task has their own dedicated sub-folder so there is no mixing of backups within a specific folder If you wish to use one folder, that is ok but then put each task (& resulting backups) inside its own sub-folder--such as for example
My Backups
sub-folder 1 for task 1 for disk option backups (all partitions)
sub-folder 2 for task 2 for partition only backups
sub-folder 3 for task 3 for files & folders only
Custom targets and names easily assigned as illustrated in figure 6, 7 & 8 of the link below.

Thank you tuttle and Grover for your prompt and I think accurate replies. I have not been able to get back to the Forum until now.
1) I am using Diskeeper2010 to automatically defrag my hard drives and
2) I did edit my backup scheme thus producing another incremental backup!
Question:
Since I would like to avoid such large files would the whole defrag factor be different if I used a differential vs. incremental backup scheme?
Thank you for your collective help already.

The defrag causes data replacement and Trueimage will track any data replacement on the disk in both the inc or dif.
If you want to use the defrag, limit the defrag until just before the full backup but not when dif or inc are scheduled.
The ful is recording everything so any movement is of no concern to the backup size.

Grover,
I can turn off defragmentation as you suggest. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
