Install SSD to copy existing Win 7 boot partion.
I have installed an SSD on my Windows 7 system, and cloned the existing system partition. Will the new version of Acronis have the capability to change the drive letters for these entities?
To explain:
The existing win 7 installation is on1 partition on a 1TB hard drive, the remaining portion of this disk
has 4 additional partitions that will remain there. There are some recovery partitions (put there by Dell) and will be merged into the now old win 7 partition at a later date.
I need to swap the drive letters of the C and H drives (reference the attached gif)
so that my system will boot from the SSD. After a period of use the old system partition (drive H after the swap) will be formatted and put to other uses. Both drives us the SATA interface.
Can I make this change with the new version of Acronis. I have an older version (V13) but it does not have this capability. I used another product to clone the win 7 (sorry forgot I had the V13 version).
Does the V13 or V14 version have the capability to make these changes?
I have searched for procedures to install SSD's but they all assume the SSD will be replacing a hard drive rather then run in parallel with the SSD.
Thanks

Unattach your old drives data cable and attach it to your new SSD, leave the old drive unattached. Attempt to boot to the new SSD. If succesful all is good. Make certain that Windows operates normally by using it for awhile. If no problems then you can reattach the old drive and repurpose as desired.

Yep, to Bob's point the trick is to boot on the SSD while no other system disk in in the system.

Go to go!!!! Unplugged the old hard drive.
Booted from the recovery disk
Selected repair disk and repaired the boot sector.
restarted and it booted to the SSD drive, much faster.
Did the obvious to fix today but yesterday did not seem obvious!
plugged in the hard drive and all is well continued to boot from the SSD.
sheesh!! :-)
Thanks for comments.
