Since installing 2013, keep getting timounter64.dll error
Ever since I installed True Image 2013. I keep getting an error message from several programs that apparently use the timounter64.dll. Examples include Gimp and Fotosizer just to name a few. The error appears three times each time I try to start disk activity with these programs. Once I bypass these error messages the first time, they do not reappear and the programs appears to work fine until they are shut down and restarted. Then the error messages reoccur. It is annoying and I don't know why it is occurring. I tried reinstalling TI 2013, but it didn't help. The last references to this problem on this board were with TI 2011, but I didn't have the problem back then. Any suggestions?

As you're interested to know if others have had this, why not search the forum? That should be standard practice before posting in any help forum. I know that timounter64.dll has been discussed.

Thanks Mr Tuttle for your response. As you stated, I had followed standard practice and had already read the handful of forum entries that dealt with this dll problem. None of them was related to the 2013 version of the software. Some went back to 2009 and 2010, but while there were possible suggestions of things to try, none of them indicated that a resolution had been determined. I had tried registering the dll as one had suggested, but I am not a technician and don't really know that I was doing it correctly. One dealt with this problem showing up when using Photoshop so the suggestion was to reinstall Photoshop and the person indicated that this was not a valid option for them to try. A couple mention using Acronis Cleanup but the links in the postings for that software are no longer valid. Maybe the answer is to use some other software, but I have been an Acronis user for many years and would hate to change now, especially since I have already paid for it. One question for you is can I uninstall and reinstall 2013 and if I do, will all of my existing Acronis backup files still be okay if I should need them. Also, is there a current version of the "cleanup" software that was mentioned in some of the posts? Can I go back to the 2012 version of the software now that I have installed and used the 2013 version for a month or two. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wanted you to see those entries, as I didn't know which might apply to you. .dll issues arise sometimes with any software, it may not be an Acronis issue per se but more of a compatibility issue or even issue with the other software.
Sure, you could uninstall ATI and do a cleanup before reinistalling. You would lose your backup tasks, which you'd recreate after reinstalling, but you wouldn't lose your existing backup images.
Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility for 2011-2013: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876
Be careful to follow all instructions, including not allowing the utility to reboot until you've made the Registry edits.

Just to followup:
I totally uninstalled True Image 2013 and used the Clean-Up Utility as prescribed. Then I rebooted my system and reinstalled 2013. The problem seems to have now gone away. I have used all of the software that was reporting problems with the dll and they all ran fine.
Thanks
