Installing a saved Raid 0 Image to a single SSD Intel X25-M 160GB
I currently have 2 WD Raptors (74G) in raid 0. I now want to replace these 2 WD Raptors with a single Intel X25-M 160GB SSD and I want to use the "Trim" feature of Windows 7 - raid not currently supported nor does Intel's Toolbox support raid. These features optimizes the performance of SSD's.
I have created a backup of my raid array (C Drive) using Acronis True Image Home 2010 onto a separate hard drive; in fact on 2 separate hard drives.
Question: By switching my motherboard's BIOS from Raid to IDE and using Acronis, can I restore my saved image and install it on Intel SDD. Will it be bootable? Or, do I have to clone my existing C drive (raid array) to my new Intel SSD?
I'd love to hear from someone that has actually done this conversion.
