Interrupt cloning

I've started cloning a 160Gb Hard Disk to a 500 GB. However, after 24 hours it's only done 15% of the job. I really need to use my computer. Is it OK to turn off the computer? Will it boot from the old 160Gb Hard Disk OK if I do?
