"invalid media" prevents creating bootable media cd in Parallels

Thread needs solution

hi, this is my first post, so forgive me if i have not searched properly to find the answer in the files, but i did search.
1) i reinstalled OSX snow leopard 10.6.8 , parallels desktop 6.0.12106, and acronis TIH 2010 (i can't find any documentation of which build, but it was the latest downloaded from the acronis website) on my imac 24."
2) i am trying to make an acronis bootable media disk on my imac in the optical drive. each time i use the media builder wizard, the "process" clock goes with the green line until it is about 1/2 way finished, then the cd is ejected and an "invalid media, try another" message is displayed.
3) the cd-r checks out as valid for writing in both the imac system information and windows. i have tried multiple cd-r's. the same cd-r brand (memorex) worked fine with acronis TIH 2012 installed on a separate pc when successfully making a bootable media disk.
4) as far as i can tell the imac optical drive is fine. i don't think parallels is the issue. has anyone else had this difficulty? any ideas?
thanks~

You could try creating the ISO file and then burning that to a CD. Another option is to just download the ISO from your Acronis account and use that.

My understanding is that True Image Home ,any version, does not support Apple Macs. This still applies even when run in Windows virtual mode.

hi mudcrab & xpilot. thanks for your input. i am aware of the ISO image. i could even copy the disc i have that i made for my pc, i guess, but i would like to find out what the issue is inside desktop parallels and windows 7. i do believe acronis will work on imacs since my copy of acronis home 2100 came with the parallels program, which is used mostly on macs/apples the way i understand it.
