Is it safe to disable schedhlp.exe from system startup

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image Workstation on Windows XP SP3.
I am experiencing problem on my software due to schedhlp.exe.

After disabling schedhlp.exe from system startup
(Removed from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run)
my software works fine.

Is there any side effects for this???

What problems are you having?

schedhlp is the part of the Acronis scheduler that looks after running tasks on events. So if you don't have tasks scheduled to run on log off, or run when external media is attached, you should be OK.

However, you shouldn't stop scheduler itself as then no backups or image tasks will run.

I am using a 3rd party software which listens for Logoff event and display a dialog on logoff (same for login)
This software is not working.

I did not understand " run when external media is attached"
can you please explain???

'Run when external media is attached', is an option that can be selected when scheduling a task.

If this option is selected, the task will check to see if the external drive is attached and running before trying to run the task. If the drive is not attached, the task will wait until it is.

If you disable schdhlp service this option won't work.
