its not a clone, its different
good morning,
first of all, english isnt my mother tongue so please be patient with all the mistakes i might do...
last night i made a full clone with acronis true image home 2011 since i planed to "play around" a bit with my current OS and make some driver changes... cloning was successfull but i found some weird differences between my old system and the new one...
here is what i have found:
old windows folder size: 16.590.932
new windows folder size: 19.638.897
inside old windows folder: 61 folders
inside new windows folder: 60 folders (sysnative folder is missing)
old system32 folder size: 1.400.330
new system32 folder size: 4.450.011
old program files (x86) folder size: 11.827.313
new program files (x86) folder size: 11.827.275
old users folder size: 204.006
new users folder size: 204.005
old HDD: 99.564 of 625.129 free = 525.565 used
new HDD: 529.788 of 976.760 free = 446.972 used
difference: 78.593
old HDD: 10 (viewable) folders on C:\
new HDD: 11 (viewable) folders on C:\ - why is an almost empty world of warcraft folder here, since it should be under C:\Games\World of Warcraft
what the hell is going on here?? this isnt a clone since there are so many differences...
i do understand that a temp folder size is different since im working with my old system right now...
why did ATIH2011 not clone the sysnative folder?? the size of this folder is 4GB... these 4GB are missing on the new HDD... but windows is still ~ 4GB bigger... how can this be?
i am so confused right now... i used to use acronis true image every now and then the past years... but i never ever had such differences with the clones...
please tell me what went wrong here...
