lenovo yoga 2 11 cant boot from USB

Thread needs solution

Can acronis build a bootable USB that works as 64 bit UEFI Fat32 USB flash drive?
Apparently my laptop cannot boot from USB unless it is in this format, and even then
It is questionable. There is no bios entry that allows for legacy boot from USB. My OS is win 8.1. Acronis woks well to do backups. But if my hdd dies, i cannot boot from USB to recover.

Has anyone here run into this. In my case the lenovo yoga 2 11 is configured this way. The problem is well documented on the web. Apparently the key is to create a bootable USB Drive that is 64 bit, UEFI, and Fat32.

From what i have gathered, this will work for Windows recovery USB drives with 64 bit OS on them. It will also work with Ubantu(??) linux bootable with 64 bit os on it.

I do not want to install acronis on this new laptop if i am unable to restore a complete imaged backup. via boot from USB.

It sounds like a problem with Lenovo to me, but since i am stuck with it, i would like to know how to build an acronis recovery usb that meets those specifications.

Any help is appreciated.

Thx
Jerry

Thank you! It appears to be just what i am looking for.
I will experiment with 2014 first.
I will post in the end for others to see if it works.
It may be a while before i get to the endpoint.

Thanks again.
