Locked drives...

Thread needs solution

Since installing Acronis True Image 2015 I have noticed doing things like renaming a drive is not possible with True Image installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.Also AM NOT able to use flash drives and they are not recognised by windows because of True image...And before anyone says its a windows problem, both problems go away AFTER uninstalling True Image, which by the way is a pain because it takes over 30 minutes to do. I regret buying this software,I will NEVER install it again

There have been issues between Acronis True Image and card readers in the past. Do you have a card reader, or are you talking about USB flash drives?

When you say renaming, you are talking about changing the volume name or changing the drive letter?

Yes USB FLASH DRIVES,are there any other kind? And renaming as in c:/main to c:/system," the VOLUME NAME", acronis interferes with it,IE WILL NOT ALLOW THE CHANGE and hangs up windows to the point I have to log out of windows and back on again to clear the hang up acronis causes...But as I said once I spent 40 minutes uninstalling ALL ACRONIS SOFTWARE the problem goes away and I can do what ever I want with my drvies. And in my case it's not a "Card Reader" Issue,i use the usb ports ON THE MOTHERBOARD....Its a glitch in the Acronis software causing the problem, plain and simple.

What build of TI 2015 did you install? The current build is 6525. Did you install TI over the top of a previous build?

Check to see if the latest Acronis drivers are being used. The following is a list of the what comes with build 6525:

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\fltsrv.sys version 1.3.0.2173
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\snapman.sys version 4.6.0.2346
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\snapapi.dll version 4.6.0.2346

A mismatch of drivers caused by installing with older versions of these drivers on the system could cause such problems.

I would suggest you use the cleanup utility to remove Acronis software from your system and then reinstall TI 2015.

I was using TI build 6525...
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\fltsrv.sys version 1.3.0.2173
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\snapman.sys version 4.6.0.2346
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\snapapi.dll version 4.6.0.2346
And the problems I have stated in previous post still occurs each time,I have uninstalled and re intalled it twice, both times I uninstalled it with the cleanup utility on acronis site...IE https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 ...And both times same problems arrise....So there fore it IS A GLITCH with Acronis software and nothing else as I have said more than once the problems ONLY OCCUR WHILE TI 2015 IS INSTALLED and problems are gone once all acronis software is uninstalled...hence the conclusion acronis true image 2015 is the cause of of the problems I have listed in my previous posts.

And before it gets to something wrong with my hardware, this is my rig:

ASUS X99-PRO Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i7 3.3GHz CPU
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 2133 (OC'd to 3200) RAM
Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300 - 1300W Modular power supply
2 Corsair Neutron XT 960GB SATA III SSD Drives
2 SAPPHIRE 8GVXSR Radeon R9 290X 8GB Video Cards in Crossfire mode
Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe Gaming Sound Card
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Which is more than enough power to run TI 2015 I think.

Hi John,

Very unlikely to be your hardware. I've reported your thread to Acronis. Hopefully you will be contacted. Be patient. They will probably want an Acronis System Report from you.

In the meantime you could should run scf /scannow from an elevated command prompt to see if any system files are missing or damaged. It's a long shot, but worth a try.

Hello John,

Mustang is right, we'll need a system report from your machine for a start. Please send me it in a PM.

Thank you.
