Locking partition C Specify location of the Volume

Thread needs solution

While doing incremental backup, acronis true image 2010 (build 6053) I get stuck in a message loop about Specify location of the volume..... Backup is done to external drive, as it has been done for many months. Drive has lots of space and no errors according to chkdsk

Could not break the loop so had to restart computer. AFterwards i find my C drive is 100 percent full, where it should only be about 60%. WTF! Is acronis putting a hidden temp file on there somewhere?? I need to get rid of it.

The response from support would be to upgrade to version 7046 so I will beat them to the suggestion.

Many of us suggest that you un-install the 6053 before installing 7046. Support has said it shouldn't matter.

After installing the 7046 update, then additionally download and install the new schedule.

The scheduler was updated in June 2010 and is not part of the normal 2010 version download/install. I suggest that you update your system with the newest scheduler.

update scheduler version 416 -June6

You might also find it helpful to assign a specific drive letter to the external and then point the task to a specific drive letter which remains the same--even if you add other external devices. I use drive letters v, w,x,y,z for my many externals.
