Love TI 10 but really scared of TI 12

Thread needs solution

True Image 10 saved my bacon. The first and only time I needed it, it did what it was supposed to do.

I want TI 12 mainly for the file sync features. After reading the reviews on Amazon it appears that almost no one likes version 12.

Does TI 12 handle file sync operations well? SyncToy 64 actually caused the problems that lead to having to use TI 10. I would not up grade just put it on a different machine.

Any suggestions?

Hello Steve,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. Thank you for your interest in our products, and for your kind comments.

I completely understand your concern. According to our statistics the synchronisation functionality is quite stable, but still I would advise you to test the solution before making a decision.

You can find the demo version of Acronis True Image Home 2012 in here. It's valid for 30 days, and almost full functional except clone feature is not available, and boot media can restore only.

Feel free to check this KB article for more details.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

Here's what I suggest:

1. Create a full disk backup of your system using ATI 10, since you know it works. (Do you really mean version 10, which is very old, or do you mean 2010? They are not the same thing.)

2. Install ATI 2012. Try out all the functions you think you would want to use, such as making full backups, syncing, restoring some files, etc. Make sure no unwanted interactions have occurred, by testing areas that occasionally have issues with 2012 such as testing out all USB ports.

3. If you're happy with 2012, leave it installed. If not, restore the full disk image you made with ATI 10, by booting from its bootable Recovery Media. You'd then be back to the system state prior to installing ATI 2012.

Yes my version is 2010 and it did exactly what I needed it to do at a time when I needed it most.

From what I can tell here 2012 has to be tested on a particular machine to know if it's going to function correctly. Is that pretty much the case?

Not that I need to at the moment but has anyone had success with restoring to a dissimilar machine? I was always under the impression Windows would choke if the motherboard with differnet - thoughts?
