Machine does not shut down

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I don't know if there is a relation between my issue and True Image Home 2011 (Build 6857):

When I want to shutdown my computer I get the message for hours (see attachment):

"Aktionen in Bearbeitung. Bitte warten.
Die Maschine wird automatisch ausgeschaltet, sobald die Aktionen abgeschlossen sind."

I have no clou what kind of actions this could be. The computer can not shut down, it doesn't matter how long I wait (once I was waiting for 5 hours but nothing happend).

Before I want to shut down, I could not see any Acronis-Task was running or a validation, so I am not sure if it is caused by Acronis. (I use Windows 7, 64-Bit).

somebody any idea?

Thanks,
George

Joshi4,

This is a problem that is a weird one and well known. My personal hunch is that it is coming from scheduling options.

Download the Acronis schedule manager and, stop the service, zap all your tasks, uninstall, reinstall the service: http://kb.acronis.com/content/1859

Go to each of your backup task, click on operations > edit backup settings. Go to the validation tab, click on the blue link for the schedule, in the advanced settings of the schedule, uncheck all boxes.

Do the same for the backup schedules, reset your schedules, uncheck advanced settings.

Since the new Build-Update 6868 it seems that this bug has been gone. I hope this will stay stable. But I have now a new problem with the new Build. I opened a new threat:

22664: Task will not stop

Correction:

I get this message even with the new build. It happens irregularly. I follow your instructions. To get sure to have understand you right, you wrote:
"Do the same for the backup schedules, reset your schedules, uncheck advanced settings." Please see my attachment, do you mean to uncheck the marked fields?

Yes.

But this is not a good work-around. The last check it is very important for me, otherwise I will miss may be some backups.

Why don't you try and see if that solves your problem? If it doesn't, then leave it on. If it does, you will have to make a trade-off.
