Many Acronis True Image 2012 Issues
I have many problems (4) with the new ATIH 2012 (see below). I’ve reinstalled many times and installed the version update to no avail. I’m at the point of abandoning this program after using it over the past 8 years . I just don’t trust it. I know this is a large post. Maybe there is a common thread or clues apparent when seen in total?
Can anyone help on any of these issues?
Maybe there is someone who can help sort this out?
My system is configuration is:
Software: Operating System -Win7 Pro 64 bit;
Hardware: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 mother board; Intel I7- 920 CPU; 6GB XMT RAM; 1TB SATA HD’s Qty 2 ; ATIH configured for Acronis Secure Zone ~1GB.
Home network- 2 computers both win7 with file sharing.
Issue 1
Since installing ATIH 2012, I repeatedly get a warning notice in the backup log, but the backup process continues successfully to a valid conclusion, including validation. The warning is always the same, -- "The initial full backup version is not accessible at the moment” It appears this may just be a timing issue but, the warning symbol gets carried thru and appears as a flag in the final backup status. Is this a real problem or another ATIH quirk?
Issue 2
Whenever I access the backup log ATIH freezes up and I must invoke the “End Process” function in the Windows Task Manager and restart ATIH.
Issue 3
The ATIH 2012 “Mount Image” function is not working. When trying to mount a partition to view it gets to the “Assigning Letters to Partitions” screen , and stays there forever. The activity symbol is spinning , but in fact its process is frozen. I have let it run up to 1+ hours before trying to exit. It cannot be stopped using the “End Process” function in the Windows Task Manager. When I try this the Task Manager will freeze as well. The only way to get the system working again is to power down and restart. I’ve used this feature successfully in earlier ATIH versions.
Issue 4
The synchronization feature isn’t working, I don’t even want to use it but it keeps reappearing. I’ve performed the “services.msc” to set the Acronis SyncAgent from auto to manual as suggested by Pat L in this forum, but status messages keep reappearing at the screen bottom without mode activation. I have re verified that Acronis SyncAgent is in manual mode and stopped.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Pat,
I tried your suggestions and the results are summarized below. I start with issue 4 because some progress has been made on it. Tests for Issues 1,2 and 4 were performed twice. Once before Issue 4 results and once with issue 4 possibly resolved.
About issue #4
I did as you suggested. I disabled the trueimagemonitor.exe in the startup folder . The Acronis SyncAgent was previously set to manual. After restarting the system and running ATIH . I saw these log entries – see Image 1:
I guess the sync feature is still not disabled after setting the SyncAgent to manual and disabling trueimagemonitor.exe in the startup folder.
As a further test I went back and changed the SyncAgent setting from Manual to Disable . I then restarted the system and the warnings “Failed to create default sync “ did not appear (see Image 2)
I guess setting the SyncAgent to Disable fixed that problem. I hope the sync feature is no longer active.
I am still getting 2 error Flags windows at the bottom of the main backup window. They are “Failed to start Sync Agent service” and “Error while calling RPC”. Don’t know what RPC is?
Also on a happy note, issue 2 did not happen after the above change . At least for 3 trials tonight .
About Issue 1
As suggested, I made a backup of a partition outside of the security zone. The results show that there was no "The initial full backup version is not accessible at the moment” warning. So, the security zone may be part of the problem. I have the log text file and an image of the log screen for this test . If it helps I can include these, but I don’t know how to include attachments in this forum?
About Issue 2
No change with the non-security zone backup test. Whenever I access the backup log ATIH freezes up and I must invoke the “End Process” function in the Windows Task Manager and restart ATIH. See issue 4 – maybe this is resolved when the SyncAgent is disabled.
About Issue 3
I tried to mount the test backup and got the same results as previously noted – ATIH freeze up and using the “End Process” function in the Windows Task Manager will get uot of the freeze. Have to use “power down” to get out.
I also tried this image mount process again after the SyncAgent was disabled – see Issue 4. Again the results were the same as above.
Summary: The image mounting problem ( Issue 3) is still a problem. Also it appears that there may be a Acronis Security Zone issue for Issue 1.

I've got issue #3, and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with ASZ on my computer.
