Missing backup incremental versions

Thread needs solution

Sorry if a similar question has been posted - I looked, but didn't see anything.

I am running incremental backup for several days resulting in more than 10 versions. Backup is saved to an external drive. Just for fun I tried to press "Recover" without the external drive connected and of course ATI reported an error. However, afterwards many backup versions have disappeared. Only 3 versions remain.
In the event log I can see all versions have been executed, but when I explore the backups only 3 are available. All the files are still on the external drive, but does not all appear in ATI.

Any suggestions to restore the missing backup versions?

Paul, did you try clicking on "Browse for backup". When I do this I see all of my backups. I tried this on my laptop which backups to an external attached eSATA drive (e.g. attached to my laptop). All of my other systems backup to a network drive (RAID 5 array) which is part of my desktop. Normally on my laptop only the files on my eSATA drive show up but when I clicked on "Browse for backup" TI found the BUs on my RAID array and presented them to me.

Paul,

From the look of the name of your backup files, the database is corrupted.

Create a new backup in a new directory
When you set the backup up, click on the destination, choose browse to:
- select the new directory
- name the backuptask so that it *doesn'/t* finish with a numeral, or a parenthesis.

Keep the number of incremental low. The rule of thumb is that your last validated, full backup should never be so old that it would never be an acceptable backup to go back to. Or, for irraplaceable content, use some other more frequent targeted backup.
