Mistakenly Deleted Backup files

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have the ATIH 2011. I was trying to delete only one backup file, but when I did that, the program deleted all the other backup files of 2 other machines. Is there any way of getting the files back?

Thanks

Generally, no. The only way would be if the files we on a local disk and were small enough to go into the Recycle Bin. If they were on a network drive and a LAN System Administrator is responsible enough to backup up the network at least every day, then you should be able to retrieve the deleted files from the network backup -- ime, you'll need to remember the file name, date, and maybe have to hand over your first born son. ;)

To delete a single backup file, I recommend using Explorer -- although Explorer too carries some risk of deleting too much if sufficient care is not exercised. Later, if you ever try an ati operation on that file, you will get an error message, in which case select Ignore or Remove backup from this list" and the database will then understand that the backup file is no more.
