Mounted FS => You don't currently have permission to access this folder

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image Home 2014 (Upgrade) purchased 2014-03-06 02:10
Version 17.0.6614

I have a 250GB hard drive that was written on an old Win7 PC. I want to reformat it so I made a backup of the contents on the new Win8 pc with the drive connected via a usb2 enclosure. After making the backup I mounted the image (read only) on the Win8 pc, and confirmed most of the file hierarchy is ok. However, there is one folder that gives me "You don't currently have permission to access this folder" and I can't find a way of to change the owner or permission so that I can read the data.

I also had a few dozen crc read errors when making the backup. Can you explain the format of the log file so I can find out exactly which sectors gave the problems. The onscreen error did give the sector number but after a few I said "Always ignore" expecting to be be able to find the culprits in the logfile., but I cannot see anything in there that looks like a (decimal) sector number.

Finally, will "Clone disk" allow me to clone a complete hard drive with 3 or 4 partitions, onto the free space on the same PC which is running True Image? I want to do this to make a temporary copy that I can later use to copy the tempory clone to a new drive.

Phil
