Mounting old Acronis Archives on win 8.1 using Acronis 2013 update.

Thread needs solution

The new update finally allows me to mount images from my other (older) machines on my new win 8.1 machine. Problem is that even as administrator I cannot access any files owned by users on the old machines. I cannot access them even if I run as administrator. This is confusing since my local administrator is listed as having full permissions on the directories and files that I cannot open. Any ideas on how to view/access these files?

John,
Instead of mounting the image, try browsing the archive in windows explorer. Double click the tib file and it will treat the image like you're just opening a series of folders allowing you to access all files without windows security settings getting in the way.

The attached screenshot shows trying to open the user folder New in a mounted image on the left versus opening the same folder while browsing the tib image in windows explorer on the right.
