Need Assistance with recovery and partition deletion. TI Home 2010

Thread needs solution

I have a DELL XPS400 with Vista Ultimate 32bit as the OS. It was using 233.76 of the original 250Gb drive so it was time to make a change. I installed and formated a 640Gb drive and using the latest build of TI Home 2010 used a very recent image to recover. Everything worked fine except the C: Partition is 233.76Gb's and beyond the partition is 362.41Gb's of unallocated space. I am sure that partition can be removed to make one large C: drive but I have no idea how. Can anyone help?

Since your running windows you can use Windows Disk management to expand the 233GB partition into the unallocated space as long a the space is after the 233GB partition. See http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/resize-a-partition-for-fre…. You can also use Partition Wizard http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html to accomplish this task. Another option is to review this article http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9303 for some help. This guide for restoring a backup to a larger drive by Grover http://forum.acronis.com/sites/default/files/forum/2009/08/3426/gh_acro… is for earlier versions but the approach is very similar.

Thank you for the information thomasjk. It woked like a charm as you knew it would. I am getting old I guess. I have been using Acronis since V8 and am sure I ran into the same problem before but my mind was blank unfortunately. Thanks again for the help.
