Need to Delete Backup file

Thread needs solution

Backup file went on system drive, practially filling it, and can't figure out how to delete it.

Boy, am I in over my head with this program (True Image Echo Workstation). It came bundled with my computer and I really am having a hard time figuring it out.

I finally was able to backup my second computer remotely, that's the good news. The bad news is I backed it up on it's C: drive, leaving it with just barely 10% left. I don't dare to just go in and delete the file, so how do I get rid of it? Is it something simple I'm missing or is it well-hidden so you don't do anything stupid by mistake (which I guess I've already done)?

And, once I've done that, will I be able to back up the remote computer to the computer that's running the software, the one with all the speed and huge hard drive?

Thanks for any help.

Hello Sharon,

No worries, I will help you to resolve this situation.

When you create a backup file, software creates one (or several) files with .tib extension in the destination folder. So if you want to take free space, just open the folder you've specified during the backup creation process and delete all .tib files from there.

Please note that your Windows OS can be set up to not show extensions for file types (it will display only "example" if the real name is the "example.tib"). To show extensions please do the following: open Windows Explorer and follow to Tools -> Folder Options -> View; then unmark "Hide extensions for known file types" option and click "Apply".

Once it's done and you have enough free space, you will be able to back your remote PC up to that drive, but note that it requires Acronis Agent installed on that remote PC. Please check Chapter 4.3 of this User's Guide for the detailed information.

I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Regards,
