Need help with One-Click Backup and initial problems

I purchased and installed ATIH 2/28. I had no initial problems installing. However, I tried the One-Click Backup and got the Tag = 0x0 error which after checking the forums seems to be an issue. One suggestion seemed to be to run One-Click out of Tools & Utilities. But when I try, I get a prompt for user credentials with a password and I don't seem to be entering the password it is looking for. Here are my questions:

Q1: Considering the problems I'm having, I am tempted to uninstall and just try reinstalling ATIH. Would that be the best idea?
Q2: The product will probably ask me to register it. Shall I register it again or ignore it since it's already been registered?
Q3: When I installed ATIH it gave me the option to register by entering the 64 character product code or to do it online. At the time, I chose to just enter the code and continue. But then I still had to register on line since the website did not show any products registered. Shall I just go to on-line registration right off the bat?
Q4: If I reinstall, would it be best to delete the backup I did on my external HD and start fresh all over again or will ATIH find the previous backup?

I would greatly appreciate feedback.

I can't speak for your one click issues but regarding your registration.

You should register our purchase at the Acronis website and you only need and can only do this once. Doing so, will make your serial number always available to you and will also make future fixes (builds for your version only) listed for future download.

Regarding the serial input into program, you will need to input this serial number on any fresh install of the current or future if the install is a new fresh install.

You can start the download program and it will give you the option of a repair or an install over the top or an un-install. The repair or over the top will probably not ask for the serial number but a fresh re-install will. A repair would be my first choice for fixing a problem. Second choice would be over the top re-install. Third choice is an un-install and re-install. This would lose any tasks you have created unless you make a copy of the scripts folder before un-installing. I would make a normal full disk option backup before performing any un-install. If you have trouble doing a backup, then perform a backup when booted from the TI Rescue CD.

If you download a future build for your same version, again, you can repair or over the top to get the new build installed.

I always write the serial number and the version/build number on the Rescue CD. If you download a future build, you will need to make another new Rescue CD. Sometimes into the future, you may (very rarely) need to restore a backup with the same version and build that it was created with so I retain all Rescue CD's that I make.

The password that it looking for (most likely) is yours Windows login password.
