Need Help - True Image 2010 Home Edition Disk Cloning under Windows XP Prof SP3
Hello,
I downloaded the evaluation copy of TI 2010 Home edition and have NOT been able to use it at all. I am trying to upgrade an existing 80 GB hard drive with 320 GB drive. Both drives are made by same company Western Digital (PATA 4500 rpm). The laptop is Sony PCG-GRT390 and MS Windows XP Prof. SP3.
1. I installed the new 320 GB disk.
2. Attached the original (source) via USB
3. I started the Acronis Bootable media from CD.
4. I chose TI 2010 Home Full Edition.
5. Selected Cloning option
6. Selected the Source - (has two partitions C and D)
7. Selected the Destination.
8. Selected the Automatic option for clining
9. TI 2010 showed the prop. larger partition for new drive
10. Proceeded to clone
11. Clone was completed.
12. I removed the TI 2010 bootable CD from CD Drive.
13. Disconnected the original (source) usb drive
14. Started the laptop
15. Missing Operating System and system will NOT start
Trouble shooting:
I went and checked again the cloned disk - sure enough it had both the partitions (D and D)
It also had the NTLoader and NTDetect and every single file from the original source.
Just to be on the safe side, I copied over NTloader and NTDetect and from the orignal and tried to boot. Same deal, NO GO, Missing Operating System.
I also read every single instructions that Acronis has and follwed it exactly as well.
So what am I missing???? Does this product actually works???

Do not use Sector By Sector ... it is not necessary in the majority of situations. When choosing what to backup simply put the check mark against Disk 1.
