New partition after restore

Thread needs solution

Hello!

I restored my system state on Win 7 64 Home Premium, from an image i made earlier to a secure zone created on an external USB drive.

After restore, I notice a new partition, 300mb, called 'SYSTEM' on the drive.

Kindly advise.

HP Probook4530s

As it was in your backup, the new partition is probably not really new. Now, it may have a drive letter (d or e or f) and be visible when before it did NOT contain a drive letter. You can open Windows Disk Management Graphical view and remove the new drive letter. the new drive letter is not necessary on the System Partition.

If this is what you want to remove the new drive letter.

Right click on the "Computer" icon and click on the "manage" option.
Select the disk management option.
Place the mouse pointer inside the System Partition rectangle.. Right click inside the partition and the resulting window should provide an option which reads
Change Drive Letter and Paths
Cllick on the Chane drive letter option
Click on the "remove" drive letter option
Click ok to complete the removal of the unwanted drive letter from the system partition.
REboot your system.
