New Version hangs on boot with Windows 7 x64.

Thread needs solution

I decided to run the update and boy was that a mistake! The new version of Acronis True Image 2013 hangs on reboot. I get a message that indicates it's loading Acronis followed by some jibberish. I contacted Acronis about the problem only to be told that I am not worth their time because I do not have a support package. Have to say, for the money I spent I would like a product that works. Word of mouth is your best/worst advertising. I had hoped for a little more from Acronis. Shame on you Seagate for the recommendation.

As a last resort, does anyone have any insight on the issue? I have uninstalled and re-installed several times.

It sounds as though you have activated Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM). Go to the Tools and Utilities tab in True Image and de-activate it. This will solve your boot issue.

Build 6514 of True Image seems to have this problem with the ASRM on some systems.

If you have not created your bootable Rescue Media (CD/DVD/USB Flash drive), do so and try booting your system to it to be sure it works on your system.

The Rescue Media can perform all of the functions of the ASRM.
