no documents included why?

Thread needs solution

i am doing a daily full single version backup of my c drive which contains all my documents as well as every thing else, and i see when i go to look in the backup location that every folder is there with content except for documents and settings which has no content why is this and how do i get this to be included.?

also how do i specify a folder only like documents and settings to be be backed up with the exclusion of every thing else on that drive?
thank you
Alistair

This is not an answer to your question and I know it takes longer, but is is safer to do a whole DISK image (ie., backup). That way, you can restore a functioning machine with all your files, OS, customizations etc. If you want to reduce the time, do an incremental backup each day and a new, full (disk) backup say once a week.

I have had several situations over the years where a HDD failed or had corrupted boot files and in those situations, getting access to a few of my most recently changed files would have been the least of my problems because re-installing the OS, all the software and my many customizations would have taken two or three days (and I always have the most recent version of my important files on my backup flashdisk anyway)

I understand that - but backing up the C drive is not the same as backing up the whole DISK.

"documents and settings' is a junction to 'users' folder, and its target is not displayed properly when browsing inside a .tib file.

Fedor , thank you , so are you saying that the documents are in fact backed up if i back up c drive?

and if they are not shown by default do i need to back them up separately in order to be able to restore them only?

They are backed up. They are shown if you access them using their 'native' path at c:\users, and restore them using that path too.
