No validation option
I backuped yesterday and went to validate the backup today. There is no option in the UI to do this. I tried using Windows File Manager to validate. I right clicked on the backup and chose validate. It fired up Acronis back into the user interface with no option to validate. I am sure that I was able to validate on my last backup a month ago. How can I do this? Help instructions don't work as there is no option to validate on the backup tab. Am I missing something???????

Yes - there is no validation wizard or any other sign of validation options! i have not tried from the recovery media as I do not think I should have to! Until my last backup early in June I was always able to find the validation option. I have not as far as I know updated IT itself since then

Manual validation should be available off the menu of any task as per this link.
http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2015/index.html#7…
If the option is still missing from the above link, then try creating a new task and see if the validation option appears on the new task.
Also, try from the Windows Explorer folder tree, (this is from memory so may not be exact)
locate the actual tib file .
Right click on it and browse the Acronis options and Valiadation should be one those listed.

The option is missing and used to be there. Also I had already tried from file explorer and when I clicked on validate, it threw up UAC and then Acronis main screen and that was a far as it went.

You should check that trueimagehomeservice.exe is running on your machine. This may have become disabled for some reason, the process should be set to Auto Start.

I've got two backups set up, and on one the validate option is there and on the other it's missing from the menu! Crazy!

I am curious about why having Acronis start up automatically would make a difference?

I have just checked and trueimagehomeservice.exe is not actually present on my machine. (win 8.1)

Why not try doing a REPAIR installation function of TrueImage,
or if necessary, an uninstall and reinstall.

trueimagehomeservice.exe is the application process that runs the validation tool. If that process is not present nor running then the options which depend on such process either do not function or are conspicuously missing from the GUI of the application. This same process also executes the main program functions of backup and restore, do these functions still work for you?
I concur with Grover, you should attempt to Repair your installation or uninstall/reinstall the application.

TI seems to be working in that I have checked each image file and found files there working as I expect. Maybe I will try a repair thanks

I uninstalled (no repair option) and reinstalled and did a backup and validate has reappeared. BUT there is no trueimagehomeservice.exe on this win 8.1 64 bit machine

You might need to enable Show Hidden Files and Folders on your machine to find it.
