Non-system disk, press any key...
Hello. I recently imaged one of our systems, something I have done many times before. However, this is the first time I have made an image of this particular system. Image making went fine, and image restore went fine. I am imaging the drive to exactly the same type of system, an HP D530.
I get the error: "Non-system disk, press any key...".
I hit the space bar and the system boots up like normal.
I've tried three different hard drives with this image, and I get the same results.
The machine will boot off all three drives, but I get that error on startup. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Mike

same problem, lots of help from support but nothing worked, including rewriting mbr. After weeks of bugging support, I looked through EasUS partition manager free to see if anything looked wrong (like I'd know, right?), and serendipitously noticed an MBR function - rewriting through that program eliminated - so far - the prompt. I had attempted this, as recommended, repeatedly, through fixmbr off the install disk with no luck. I'm not necessarily recommending it, I don't know if the 2013-->2014 upgrade will kick me back into trouble, I can't see it as other than a beta in function, but I've now rebooted twice with a clean entry into Windows XP pro. I'm holding my breath until Acronis does a scheduled backup to see if it will change the MBR into something my computer doesn't like, again. The F11 won't install and it won't set up an ASZ on my usb drive either, but since support has so kindly not given up on me, I don't want to trouble them further by causing further "diskopathy" until the software engineers report a stable 2014 has been finalised and I do the update. caveat emptor taking my advice - of course caveat emptor buying Acronis too eh?
