NonstopBackup BIG issue: stops, reports successfull backup, completely deletes all backups
Hello
I recently bought 3 licences of ATI2013 and installed 2 of them on Windows 8 Pro machines. I was very interested in the NonstopBackup-Feature. I do have a NAS at home where backups will be saved to. One of the machines is a desktop pc which is always connected to the NAS. The other one is my laptop which might not be at home all the time as I am freelancer and often work at customer locations.
It appeared that while the NAS was offline (relocated it in the office) the NonstopBackup stopped on both maschines. It never came back on successfully. But it REPORTS to have successfully finished the action. Even worse: the hole ATI created folder was gone and with it alle the backups!
While the desktop pc backup has been completely deleted, I can still see the backup folder for my laptop and the last reported version has a date 5 days in the past.
To be precise: ATI2013 NSB cannot handle a backup destination disconnect, tries it anyway, probably tries a consoldiation and deletes old backups?!
I have been using it just a week so far so it isn't too bad in my situation, but my confidence has gone. I don't trust ATI2013 any more. I immedately switched from NSB to normal scheduled backups but this is not, what I want. For sure I will evaluate other products.
But since I have been using ATI (2010) so lang for manual backups and there has never been a problem - is there anything I can do for you to investigate this no-go behaviour?
