Operation priority + will not wake computer to do automatic scheduled backups

Thread needs solution

Under disk backup options, performance tab, I am unable to set an operation priority. It refuses to budge from the "low" setting. Also, have tried task scheduler in addition to scheduling auto backups within the True Image program, but it will NOT wake my computer to perform a scheduled backup.

Greetings,

I'll have to look at the performance tab in a little bit as I haven't tried to change mine.

Several factors can affect a PC's ability to wake from S3 state to perform a scheduled task. I had an issue with build 6154 where if I editied the schedule when a task was to be performed after creation, the PC would not wake. If however, I created the same task without editing later, it would run successfully every time. Sometimes deleting a creating a new (same) task with the desired schedule and wake settings works. I've not seen this behavior in 7119.

Other user's here also use the windows task scheduler to wake the PC prior to the Acronis task's scheduled start time.

Your power management settings can also play a role in any software's ability to wake the PC from standby.

Thanks for the info. I have other scheduled programs that wake the computer without a hitch, so I am confused about Acronis failing to do so. I am always open to any & all suggestions & so if you think the power management settings can be optimized to perform this task, I am ALL ears!. Thanks again,

magaliasue,

You might want to double check inside the TI task scheduler under the Advanced settings to make sure that the wake setting is enabled. Don't save the check if you make no changes. Just look and exit if no changes needed.

If you are somewhat familiar with Windows Scheduler, you can easily use it to wake and start the backup and change the TI scheduler to do not schedule.

Click on my signature index below and look at item #3-H which details how it is done. Adjust the schedule example to fit your needs.
