Outlook Express Address Book - Recovery

Thread needs solution

I have been trying to retore my address book. I just did a full backup last week. True Image Home version 11.0 build 8101 keeps crashing when I get to C:\...\Microsoft\ What is the correct way to recover the address book? How can I search the 8 dvds that comprise my backup for the address book?

Hello Bobby,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

The best way is to copy the content of the DVD disks into a single folder on your internal or external hard drive.

To have an opportunity to restore the address book you should create My E-mail backup (file-level backup of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, and Windows Mail settings and messages) instead of My computer backup.

In this case the program will recover the address book into the default directory automatically.

Thank you.

Well, I just did this, created a My Email backup yesterday and then did a new install of XP on my wife's computer.

Besides having the usual several hours of reinstalling all the programs, virus software etc, using Acronis to restore the emails and address book just simply will not work.

Thankfully I did a save of the OE Store FOlder, so was able to reimport the emails from there.

But am still without the address book. Every time I try to do this, the opeartion stops (after clicking on Proceed).

Many thanks for any hints.
