Partition and Backup size issue
I'm on Acronis True Image build 6525. I'm running into two issues.
When backing up my operating system boot drive the base image is around 420GBs but my SSD only has 83.7GBs on it. The capacity of the drive is 446GBs. It's an Intel 530 series SSD.
My scheme and method are set incremental but all my scheduled backups are coming back around the same size as my base image.
Sector by sector and backup unallocated space are unchecked. I'm not running any pre/post commands. Backup splitting is automatic.

The incremental backups are of changed disk sectors. What is changing the sectors? Do you have autodefrag running ir a similar utility which is may be tuning your disk sector locations? Defrag must only run prior to a full.

Only thing I can think of is TRIM on the SSD.

Fred,
If I understand your file type being backup up is LInux, then I believe TI will automatically backup "sector by sector" with the backup size mostly the same as the partition size.

Polar,
You are using Windows 8.1 which most likely is GPT partitioning. Are you makeing a partition image or disk image?
Does 8.1 have anything going in the background which relates to defrag is disk tuning?

Polar,
The TRIM of the SSD is not the source of the issue, I am pretty sure of that.
Assuming you don't have any disk encryption software, disk caching mechanism, and this is not a virtual or dynamic disk of some sort, I'd rather think there is some corrupt file system information on the disk and/or some ATI installation issue.
uninstall ATI
user the ACronis cleanup utility - follow each instruction attentively.
reboot
launch Windows disk management
assign a drive letter to any hidden partition you can (for some, Windows won't let you on a GPT/UEFI disk)
run chkdsk X: /R where X: is each partition
run disk manufacturer diagnostics utility, if any
reboot
remove the partitions letters you added, if any
reinstall ATI

Thanks for the reply Pat and Grover.
I have Bitlocker enabled on the disk I'm trying to backup. It's also GPT.
I ran a chkdsk and the file system was healthy.
I saw Bitlocker was support but in this case, would that be causing the issue?
Thanks guys!

The problem is Bitlocker, yes. This is an issue that appeared with Windows-run backups in the 2015 version. The problem is known by Acronis.
